I am a newly awakened Mom to Common Core in Maine. I really love & appreciate this blog! After watching this video, I looked up our new math curriculum to see if it aligned with Common Core. Not only does it align, but it was a model for the Common Core Standards! The first thing I read about it said, "Math In Focus is organized to teach fewer topics in each grade, but to teach them thoroughly." Just like you talked about! I will continue to research & share in my circle of friends & family. I'm already discovering that parents do not know what Common Core is, but educators & parents within the school system fully support it & wonder why I question these great standards. ~ Joey
